SURF LIFE   with Rick Cowley

this is what I mean...

Inspiring Young Adults Through Cancer

There is a way of being where you are at peace, you trust Life, you take one simple step at a time, you let yourself and your Life move forward into the unknown and you know that everything is going to be fine. You feel ease. You are breathing. You are aligned with your Inner Being and the subtle pulses of the Universe. You are real. Your attention is here and now. You easily tie up loose ends and ride the forward momentum of Life.

This is what I call The Flow; and it’s akin to surfing a wave.

It’s where synchronicities happen. It’s where you are letting very good things happen with not much effort. It’s where Life feels like an adventure that’s really fun and sometimes scary (but that’s fun too). And best of all it just feels really really good–like surfing.

Getting diagnosed with cancer as a young adult is like getting a shot of this PRESENCE into the heart of your Being; ALL THE LITTLE THINGS THAT YOU HABITUALLY WORRIED ABOUT SEEM TO DISAPPEAR; YOU ARE SCARED, IT’S OKAY; YOUR HEART OPENS UP, AS DO THE HEARTS OF THOSE AROUND YOU; YOU HAVE THE FREEDOM TO BE YOURSELF, TO EXPRESS YOURSELF; THE ILLUSION OF “SOME DAY” EVAPORATES; YOU TAKE A MASSIVE STEP CLOSER TO REMEMBERING YOUR UNIQUE PURPOSE.

You start getting glimpses: YOU create your Life. But how? How did this happen?

You start asking important questions: WHY AM I HERE?

YOU START PAYING ATTENTION TO HOW YOU FEEL: EASE AND ALIGNMENT? OR DIS-EASE?

You start creating more, as you were meant to… maybe painting or writing about your journey. And creating bigger things–like a healthy harmonious body and mind.

An important part of you gets awakened: I want my life to make a difference, I want my life to count. I want to be fulfilled.

But most importantly:

I want to BE ALIVE, right here, right now, in the Flow of Life, in the Flow of Love, in the pulsing heart of this miracle of Life.

This is the gift of getting cancer as a young adult. You CAN change your life to align with who you really are and what you came here to do.

“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.” – Joseph Campell

“For me, the ultimate reality is to surf my way through life; to experience the same sense of exhilaration, co-creation, flow and fun that I do on a wave, moment to moment, as my Life unfolds.” Rick Cowley
